Is hell freezing over or is this good for the environment?

You know those crazy huge, obnoxious H2 limos that cruise around downtown and the clubs? All the stretch limos that seem to be car culture at it's most absurd extreme?

Check this press release we got thru Centerstage... I can't tell if it is a good thing or not.

EXOTIC COACH LIMOSUITES CONVERTING ENTIRE LIMO FLEET TO ALTERNATIVE FUEL CHOICE TO REDUCE THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT

(CHICAGO) – Exotic Coach LimoSuites® Coast to Coast, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, is on a mission to lessen their carbon emissions by converting their entire fleet of over 50 gasoline powered stretch limousines into vehicles powered by propane gas fuel. Not only will this reduce their carbon emissions, but it will also lower their fuel costs and begin to make plans for a better, cleaner tomorrow by reducing their carbon footprint.

Exotic Coach LimoSuites is making these conversions with the help of Fuel for Earth, Inc., a local company that transforms gasoline fueled cars into propane fueled, eco-friendly green-mobiles. The first Exotic Coach LimoSuites conversion limo is already on the road! It is a 2007 Dual Axle 40’ stretch H2 Hummer, and it is the first in Chicagoland to carry passengers fueled by propane.

“We are thrilled to say our entire fleet of limousines will be transformed by the end of 2008,” states Frank DeAngelo from Exotic Coach LimoSuites. “Propane produces 98% fewer vehicle emissions than gasoline. Additionally, propane is very safe. It has a much smaller range of flammability than gasoline, which means greater safety in the rare event of an accident.”

While the amount of propane consumed in a vehicle is nearly the same as the amount of gasoline, the current, local cost of propane is only about $1.60 to $2.00 a gallon versus $3.40 to $4.00 for a gallon of gasoline. The average price for each conversion will be about $5000, and once the EPA certifies each vehicle, there are cash credits of up to $4,000 received from the government, as well as other incentives. The conversions nearly pay for themselves.

“We specialize in propane, or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), automobile conversions,” Joanne Davis from Fuel For Earth said. “It’s a popular and positive alternative fuel choice because there is an existing infrastructure of pipelines and many processing facilities readily available.”

Vehicle performance and comfort will not be compromised in any way and the conversion kits will be installed by certified professionals, as Exotic Coach LimoSuites demands the only the best for their cars as well as their clients. Clients that choose a custom Exotic Coach LimoSuites will not only ride in the lap of luxury, but they will also have the piece of mind they are doing business with a company that cares about the environment.
